How to Install Chromium (Google chrome) in Ubuntu

"Chromium" vs "Google Chrome"

Chromium is an open source project. Google Chrome is a browser from Google, base on the Chromium project. This is a build of Chromium, no versions of Google Chrome for Linux will exist until Google makes an official release.


Install Chromium using .deb package

First you need to download .deb package from here using the following command


$wget http://media.codeweavers.com/pub/crossover/chromium/cxchromium_0.9.0-1_i386.deb

Now you have cxchromium_0.9.0-1_i386.deb package install this package using the following command


$sudo dpkg -i cxchromium_0.9.0-1_i386.deb


This will complete the installation


If you want to open chromium in Ubuntu or Kubuntu go to Applications->CrossOver Chromium->Chromium
